Glad somebody posted about this. He was an amazing talent for sure, though frequently overshadowed by former bandmate David Sylvian.
He also played bass on a Kate Bush album and put out quite a few solo records. The Dalis Car record was a fascinating fiasco but Karn and Murphy were in discussions to produce a sequel this year. Unfortunately they were trying to put it together after Karn received his cancer diagnosis.
It's a shame he and Sylvian fell out and could never really work out their personal differences. The Japan "reunion" (Rain Tree Crow) in the early 90s produced some underrated material and I would have loved to hear more of it.
I was a huge Japan fan in high school, though that was in the mid-to-late 80s so I never did see the full band perform live. At least there's a lot of YouTube clips out there.
RIP Mick

Cool! I'll be there around midnight, and my dad will follow shortly after. I reserved, he sadly did not. :(
Walked by around 3pm, there were maybe 10-15 people in the walk-in line, nobody in the reserve line. (Though there were a few bikes... Not sure what that means.)
Excited! I camped out here for the iPad launch (first in the store, derp!) and it was a lot of fun. Charging everything now to last through the night!

Pros:
-Improved, more modern look with the tabs
-Compatibility
-Size of HTML file
Cons:
-Too much information coming at you at once with three columns instead of two
-Larger Google Ads
-Still not remotely consistent with the mac fourms in terms of style
-Addition of additional color (light blue), which makes 4 (red, tan, white, and now blue)
Overall, a good start, but there is still a lot more asthetic work to be done.

I totally agree with you, the page needs to be simple, one look and you should get the jist of the whole site. The graphics look much better but layout needs to change, only have one column on the side (like on the old layout)

Id say it depends on what kind of stereos they will introduce, if it's a shelf system then maybe around $400-650, for components even more, but I doubt it will go for $2000.

I like the new design. The only problem I have, is when I came to the site. The first thing I saw was a Microsoft ad!!!!! Scary!

Thank. That is what i wanted to know. Do you know of any other services?
Just a little heads-up:
Spotify is apparently launching in the US in Q1 2010. This will presumably include their advertising-supported service that comes at no charge. This one is definitely worth waiting for.
Of course, a lot of CDs can also be listened to on Last.fm (http://last.fm), although it definitely seems to have gotten more restrictive nowadays and fewer albums allow a complete play-through instead of short previews.

I'm thinking it's only a matter of time before AT&T starts offering this service for out of contract iPhones.

Unlocking service are already shutting down? This site has discontinued it after 2 days in operation.

They are supposedly not taking new orders until they can clear the backlog. By then who knows what Apple will have done. Somehow I do not think Steve is amused.

Actually, most of the design elements looked very Microsoft.
Many of the UI colors, shapes and controls looked like the ones in MS's Future Vision 2019 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHVjPCMEtts).
The tabletop interfaces, especially when a phone was laid down, took a lot of cues from the MS Surface (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VfpVYYQzHs).

I was a home getting ready for school to start when the first plane hit. Then when I got to school I learned that a second plane hit the other tower. I had a feeling of mostly disbelief. Especially when I heard that the first one fell. I had a bad felling and mixed emotions for a few days. I wanted to do something about it but I couldn't. I could go into a lot more detail but that would take pages to write, I can remember almost everything I said, who I talked to, and what was going trough my head that day. I'll never forget. It's burned into my mind.

i just checked, and it looks like if you go to iphone.org, the url no longer is redirected to "apple.com", but the url stays as "iphone.org" and loads apple's homepage. the hyperlinks throughout the page are also "iphone.org/ipodnano",etc. does this mean apple's moving to make iphone.org a real website?????
This is interesting - can anyone confirm that the website didn't do this before?

Why is M$ even competing against Apple? They should be bold enough to create the playing field... like they always did... wait...
